Hip Pain When Walking or Standing
The Problem
A lot of people come in saying something like:
“My hip hurts when I walk or stand for a while.”
It may feel deep, tight, or even sharp.
Hip pain is extremely common.
Why It Happens
Usually, a few things are going on:
• Weak glutes
• Tight hip flexors
• Poor load transfer through the pelvis
When the hip isn’t working well, surrounding tissues pick up the slack.
Quick Tip
Try this:
Stand on one leg and hold for 20–30 seconds.
Keep your hips level.
When Massage Helps
Massage can help loosen tight hip muscles and improve movement.
When the hip moves better, pain with walking often decreases.
If hip pain keeps bothering you, it may be worth getting it checked out.
